According to The Washington Post, Twitter’s new owner held tense meetings in the company’s offices while Elon Musk’s 2-year-old son watched. The newspaper claims that in October, while meeting with Twitter’s Trust and Safety Office Yoel Roth, Musk brought his son X A-Xii, whom he shares with singer Grimes.
According to reports, Musk was trying to continue their conversation about Twitter’s future while the child ran amok in the office. The Post also noted that the conference room had been “was strewn with toys” during Musk’s son’s visit. As Grimes explained to Vanity Fair in an interview back in March, Musk frequently takes their son along because he considers him to be “a protégé.”
“I think E is really seeing him as a protégé and bringing him to everything and stuff.… X is out there. His situation is like that,” said Grimes. According to Vanity Fair, Musk and Grimes quietly welcomed their second kid, a daughter called Exa Dark Siderael, who they have since renamed Y.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Grimes revealed the meaning behind her daughter’s unusual name: Exa is short for the supercomputing word exaFLOPS, while Dark stands for “the unknown.” She explained, “People fear it, but truly it’s the absence of photons. Dark matter is the beautiful mystery of our universe.” Vanity Fair says that the “sigh-deer-ee-el” pronunciation of Siderl, the third part of Y’s complete name, is correct.
She defined sidereal as “the genuine time of the universe, star time, deep space-time, not our relative earth-time,” and dubbed this new spelling of the word “a more elven” alternative. Even more importantly, Grimes’ favorite heroine from The Lord of the Rings, Galadriel, “chooses to abdicate the ring,” therefore the name “Siderl” has a double meaning that refers to her.

Many Twitter users have voiced doubts about the billionaire’s capacity to make Twitter a success since he bought the service. According to Reuters, hundreds of staff departed when the billionaire CEO of Tesla (whose tenure at Twitter began with major layoffs) emailed them and told them they had to work in a “very intense” fashion or else.
After Musk bought the platform for $44 billion last month, a legal battle erupted after he backed out of the agreement in July, and he reportedly demanded in an email that employees work “long hours at high intensity” or quit. It was reported that just days afterward, Musk fired over half of Twitter’s 7,500 staff.
PEOPLE reached out to Twitter for comment, but the firm has yet to address rumors of staff departures, office closures, or users tweeting about the shutdown of the network. The New York Times reports that Twitter has disbanded its communications department.
