Elon Musk created a novel new Twitter feature that shows how many times a tweet has been viewed. The company’s new owner and CEO made the announcement on Thursday, claiming that the feature would work in much the same way as the existing manner of presenting video views on the site.
Twitter users have unanimously decided to ignore Elon Musk‘s next contentious choice, a view count feature. “Twitter is rolling out View Count, so you can see how many times a tweet has been seen! This is normal for video,” Musk wrote in a tweet. “Shows how much more alive Twitter is than it may seem, as over 90% of Twitter users read, but don’t tweet, reply or like, as those are public actions,” he added. He also said tweets are often seen 100 times more than they are liked.
Many Twitter users were uninterested in trying out the view option. “This “view count” thing is the dumbest feature in twitter history. hey here’s the number of people who saw your tweet and completely ignored it. does that make you feel good is that useful to you” a Twitter user said.

The Twitter community has spoken, and they don’t want Elon Musk’s next controversial choice—a view count feature—on their platform. With the new View Count feature, Twitter users will be able to know how many times their tweets have been seen.
