On Sunday, Elon Musk said that Twitter will be launching a premium ad-free Blue plan for paying customers. Musk, who paid $44 billion to purchase Twitter in October 2022, has been mum on the pricing and release date details for the new tier.
Twitter Blue now costs $11 a month for iOS and Android users and $8 a month for sign-ups done via the web. There is an $84 yearly fee for online subscriptions. Twitter has implemented these increased prices for iOS and Android in order to compensate for the 30 percent and 30 percent, respectively, that Apple and Google collect from app store sales.

There should be half as many adverts on the paid plan as there are on the free plan, but Twitter apparently hasn’t implemented this adjustment yet. However, advertisements will no longer appear on the new, more expensive tier. In a subsequent tweet on Sunday, Musk stated that “ads are too frequent and too big,” and that the San Francisco-based company would be “taking steps to address both in coming weeks.”
Also, there will be a higher priced subscription that allows zero ads

Musk predicted that by 2028, adverts on the service will provide 45% of overall revenues, down from 90% in 2020, when he first announced his intention to purchase Twitter. Instead, he stated that he intended to leverage subscriptions as a revenue driver, which resulted in a change to Twitter Blue by the end of 2016.
The Blue plan’s premium features include a verification checkmark (awarded after a verification check), the ability to undo a tweet, bookmark folders for organizing saved tweets, custom app icons for altering the Twitter icon on your phone, a variety of color themes, and the ability to customize the app’s navigation bar, among other things. With a paid account, you may post films up to 60 minutes long on the website and 10 minutes long on iOS and Android.
