On Thursday, Kevin Costner appeared in court to discuss his ex-wife Christine’s request for child support. During a lunch break on Thursday, the Yellowstone actor and his legal team, which included Laura Wasser, were captured in a photograph outside the Santa Barbara court. John Rydell, Christine’s attorney, stated in his opening remarks that they were lowering Christine’s child support request amount to $161,592 per month in light of the most recent evaluation by a forensic accountant.
Costner’s attorney suggested a monthly salary of $60,000. After filing for divorce in May, Christine is now collecting $129,000 per month in child support for the couple’s three kids, daughter Grace, 13, and sons Cayden, 16, and Hayes, 14. 18 years were spent as a married couple. According to court documents acquired on August 26, the mother of three was suing Costner, 68, for $175,057 per month.
In documents submitted to the court by Christine, it was stated that “forensics has determined that [Kevin’s] average cash flow available for support for the two years of 2021 and 2022 was $19,248,467 per year ($1,604,039 per month).” The filings added, “Based on this financial flow and a 50/50 parenting time distribution, the guideline child support, which is presumptively right under California law, is $175,057 per month.
According to the records, the sum would have allowed the kids to retain a standard of living that was “relatively comparable” to the one they were reared in. Christine also wanted to guarantee that she and Costner’s “three minor children will continue to enjoy the lifestyle that has been made possible by Kevin Costner’s substantial earnings and wealth,” according to the paperwork. Rydell asserted at the hearing on Thursday that the way of life to which Christine and Costner’s children have grown accustomed is “in their DNA at this point.”
