Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and the rest of the Guardians are reunited in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, the first Guardians film since 2017. For the current iteration of the crew, the movie will mark their last outing in the MCU.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and their holiday special, our heroes continue their search for Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and battle the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), who wants to establish a “perfect society.”
Fans are worried for Rocket since it appears like one of the gang is in danger this time. A synopsis teases:
“Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
Only time will tell how our animal friend’s future turns out. However, things don’t seem promising for him, especially after director James Gunn previously convinced everyone that he would perish. Nebula (Karen Gillan), meanwhile, seems to have received a significant promotion.
Gunn previously told Deadline of last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special:
“I [saw it] as an opportunity to introduce some elements into Guardians of the Galaxy, so I didn’t have to explain them at the beginning of Volume 3. I don’t have to talk about where they got Knowhere from, or Cosmo being around Knowhere. I think you see what Nebula’s role is in the group now: she’s a leader to some degree. We see all these changes since we’ve seen them last.”
Gunn has admitted he hopes to break the “Threequel curse” with the third movie, so the pressure is on. He added to EW:
“This is the big one. This is where things really happen. This is where we get to know the truth about who these characters are, and we face the biggest stakes.”
Here is all the information you need to know about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The threequel has already set a new world record with its filming as it surpassed The Grinch for “the most make-up appliances created for a single production.” Impressive.
