Making live-action remakes of its great stories is a remarkable pattern that Walt Disney Studios has established. The studio attempts to convey the wonderful tales in a new light with real people by bringing to life each story from the bygone age one after the other.
Disney will resume its run of live-action remakes a month after the release of Peter Pan & Wendy in April with The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid, a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen served as the basis for the 1989 Disney animated film of the same name.
The movie was a huge hit and Ariel the Mermaid gained widespread recognition. The wait will soon be over with the announcement of a live-action adaptation in 2016. The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall is an Oscar-winning live-action remake of the studio’s 1989 animated musical blockbuster.
There isn’t much more time till we find out, but the plot will probably follow the original events. Here is all the information we currently have about The Little Mermaid.
When Will The Little Mermaid be Released?

A new record for Disney live-action remakes, The Little Mermaid’s running time of 2 hours and 15 minutes (135 minutes) is noteworthy.
On September 10, 2022, Walt Disney Studios unveiled the official teaser trailer for The Little Mermaid at a presentation at Disney’s D23 Expo. Since the picture began with enormous ocean waves, the teaser truly caught the audience’s attention.
The next sequence immerses the audience in the fascinating ecosystem found beneath the enormous ocean providing breathtaking glimpses of it. In a wonderful spellbinding moment, the young mermaid Ariel is shown singing, “Out of the sea, wish I could be… part of that world.”
Halle Bailey’s first appearance as Ariel garnered great attention from fans. You can check outtrailer below:
Disney published a 30-second ad for the movie on February 15, 2023. The last 15 seconds of the advertisement give us a better look at Ariel and our first glimpses at her mermaid sisters, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric (in what appears to be the live-action rendition of “Kiss the Girl”) and Melissa McCarthy as Ursala.
The first half of the advertisement contains roughly the same footage as the initial teaser trailer. The Little Mermaid’s full trailer was unveiled on stage by Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy on March 12, 2023, during the 95th Annual Academy Awards.
